The Population Singularity was expected to be November 13, 2026. Current population should be about 1.2 Trillion. The map was apparently not the territory. Quoting @DavidRBellamy ‘It is trivially obvious and mere straightforward extrapolation that Earth will have infinite humans on it by 13 Nov 2026’ The mechanism is clear: more people create more people. If you can’t grasp this, we will need to resort to media manipulation to save you from yourself. P(Doom by 2026) = 100%.… Related

First point: Bearer assets are important. Second point: How does Cory walk and do this. Quoting @CorySwan In 1933, the U.S. government forced Americans to surrender their gold. When Bitcoin becomes important enough, the easiest coins for the government to grab will be the enormous pools held by regulated custodians. That’s what Bitcoiners mean when we warn about a "6102 Attack," and it’s a major reason… Related

I've been scratching my head trying to think how to package assets for my #lispGameJam project, I really REALLY wanted to be able to inline assets as raw hex code, like I normally do for uxn projects, not have to read binary files, so I added a special form with square brackets that lets me to just that! This is the first sprite(a little arrow) I was able to store in my source code. Related

Apple's market cap was about $351–360 billion when Steve Jobs died. On September 1, 2026, Tim Cook's last day as CEO, it was $4.75 trillion. When Ballmer handed over to Satya Nadella in Feb 2014, Microsoft market cap was about $315B. It’s $3.7 trillion now. Similar outcome with Sam Walton and Wal-Mart. It went the other way with GE and Jack Welch. So, it cuts both ways, and I think the deciding factor is whether the underlying business quality, moat, and capital-allocation discipline survive the transition intact. Quoting @menakadoshi The events at HDFC Bank confirm two of my worst suspicions. One, celebrity founders and CEOs often leave behind a leadership vacuum. We're starting to leave the territory where you'd test an LLM by e.g. "create an svg of pelican on a bicycle". As one idea to generalize it, I was interested what Opus 5 would do if I gave it the first paragraph of the Lord of the Rings, a 1M token budget (~$10) and asked for three js render of it. Opus went off for ~2 hours and wrote 5500 lines of code that (procedurally) rendered the story. It's kind of janky but fun. But it's a bit mindboggling that the LLM has to place and orchestrate various polygon assets in (x,y,z) coordinates and write code that animates it all, and that it even does… LLMs Related

What is a korrent?
A korrent is a belief a person has stated in their own words: one
sentence stating the claim, backed by a quote and a source, kept at
korrents.com .
Under a name here, the quoted block is what they actually said.
The korrent beneath it is the claim those words support, in
korrents' wording — tap it to see the record, its source, and who
else holds it.
Nobody here wrote their own korrents. They are compiled from public
statements, and a person can change their mind, which is recorded too.

About the English under a post
Some people here publish in a language other than English. Where they
do, this site shows a machine translation beneath the post, in
this typeface — the site's own, not theirs.
The post itself is never changed, moved or hidden: what is set in the
serif above is exactly what the person published, and it is what to
quote them on. A translation can be wrong in ways that matter,
especially about tone.
Only the post's own words are translated. A quoted post, a linked
article and a belief on korrents.com
are left in their original language.
