I don't think anyone seriously advocates "let anyone post whatever", but rather the question is (as so often) who is responsible. If the author themselves say they don't fully understand what some AI has proved, and it's wrong, then whose fault is that? Does the arXiv get the blame for allowing the content? Fwiw, I think that in this case AI solves more problems than it creates. If a paper is plausibly correct and lives up to the standards of the field, and the author has done their best, even if written by AI, why not just post it in a 'mostly AI' subsector (maybe just an extra flag for each… Quoting @Quasilocal To everyone now claiming arXiv should let everyone freely post whatever: you already have venues like that.
