We said all of this engineering that historically exists in spreadsheets really should exist in software. The spreadsheet engineering is like it's like baby software.

Like this is actually like a new form of test time compute. Like when we talk about the scaling laws and kind of we talk about the model getting more intelligent over time, historically, it's been a function of the size of the neural net, the amount of training data, and the number of flops that you put in to the training. And then recently, we also added test time compute. So this is essentially a fancy way a researcher way of saying how many tokens does it generate. And now dynamic workflows are essentially a new way to orchestrate test time compute.

Whenever humans experience situations where we are closer to our animal selves than usual (needing to use the bathroom, having periods, giving birth, raising a baby, being sick), we usually behave as animals do: instinctively, urgently, and impolitely.

And so the next scaling law is the agentic scaling law. It's kind of like multiplying AI. Multiplying AI, we could spin off agents as fast as you want to spin off agents. And so, you know, I… You know, I have four scaling laws.

From one piece Can ICE Enter a Home To Make an Arrest With Only an Administrative Warrant? 2 beliefs, in the piece's order there
-
Their words
Even if the policy is unconstitutional, as it seems to be, a person who is illegally searched probably can't sue ICE for violating their constitutional rights.

Their words
Back when the Fourth Amendment was enacted, the most fundamental remedy for an unlawful government entry into your home was a civil suit for trespass against the officers.

A company's terms of service cannot enlarge or shrink your constitutional privacy rights in either direction.Their words
As I have argued here, I don't think TOS alter Fourth Amendment rights—up or down.

Whether the Fourth Amendment protects the terms you type into a search engine is a genuinely close question.Their words
Doctrinally, either answer is at least plausible; even under my own take of what Carpenter means, it's not an easy call.

Lovevery Kits are just the ultimate. We have this play gym (as does everybody?!) which works with the Montessori toys they make. They have kits for different age groups from newborn through 51 months (I cannot even begin to calculate how old that is) and they have taught me so much about baby development!

The effectiveness of a plot twist depends on how carefully a story's point of view relates to its audience.Their words
Point of view is essential for effective twists. Contrast Frozen with Fight Club, where the narrator's unreliability works because the entire story flows through his perspective and he maintains a direct relationship with the audience through fourth-wall breaks.

Although the cross-sectional relationship between national income and fertility is negative, the longitudinal relationship between national income and fertility is positive: economic booms create baby booms, economic busts create baby busts.

From the 1960s, US fertility fell primarily due to fewer births among couples. In that context, baby bonuses might raise fertility. But today, the major contributing factor is the decline of coupling.

But what I do suggest is that there were very low platforms on the Giza Plateau that are much older and that when we look at the three Great Pyramids, we are looking at a renovation and a restoration and a enhancement of much older structures that had existed on the Giza Plateau for a much longer period before that.

In prioritizing a list of tasks, the closest calls matter least while getting the very top item right matters mostTheir words
In hindsight, the hardest comparisons are in fact the least useful - if I do the fourth most important task before the third most important, that's no big deal, but doing the tenth before the first is a screw-up!

What is a korrent?
A korrent is a belief a person has stated in their own words: one sentence stating the claim, backed by a quote and a source, kept at korrents.com.
Under a name here, the quoted block is what they actually said. The korrent beneath it is the claim those words support, in korrents' wording — tap it to see the record, its source, and who else holds it.
Nobody here wrote their own korrents. They are compiled from public statements, and a person can change their mind, which is recorded too.
About the English under a post
Some people here publish in a language other than English. Where they do, this site shows a machine translation beneath the post, in this typeface — the site's own, not theirs.
The post itself is never changed, moved or hidden: what is set in the serif above is exactly what the person published, and it is what to quote them on. A translation can be wrong in ways that matter, especially about tone.
Only the post's own words are translated. A quoted post, a linked article and a belief on korrents.com are left in their original language.
