For those who were wondering: my total write time for this article was 16 hours not including research and development. The diagram format is a complete experiment. Hope you all like it! Quoting @tigrisdata.com If our objgit post was so good last time, where's objgit post 2? Today we have an update on the epic saga of Xe reinventing Git storage on top of object storage: making seek-native packfiles. What does this mean? Well, git is complicated. Huddle into this thread! How do you feel when you wake up and before bed and how easily do you fall asleep? The time in bed in the morning and at night tells you all you need to know. It's not a purely intellectual reasoning. It's not a pro and con list. It's not a spreadsheet. It’s not a Venn diagram. It's like, how do you feel? And are you even aware of how you're feeling? How much energy have you spent blocking out feeling, because you don't want to feel certain things? To borrow from Tara Brach, she said to me once, “There was a wise old sage who said, ‘There's really only one question worth considering and that… energy Related

In my recent ICM talk, I displayed a diagram of the life cycle of an individual problem, from an open problem all the way to a definitive solution, with a key point being that AI tools have been far more effective at accelerating some portions of this cycle than others. A point which I made verbally in the talk, but not in the image, was that the definitive solutions to problems also formed the base for subsequent progress in the field, both by suggesting new key problems to work on, and to supply new techniques to tackle these problems. I therefore enclose a further evolution of the diagram… Related

This is a fascinating topic, and there’s a lot of BS floating around it. This book is one of the good ones.

which is that the the Venn diagram of developer experience and agent experience is a circle. And the point here is that, you know, what we do that that's good for the agents is good for the humans and vice versa. I'm hearing a lot of feedback saying, "Yeah, actually, if you have well-modularized code, that actually makes it easy for the agents to work with."

What is a korrent?
A korrent is a belief a person has stated in their own words: one
sentence stating the claim, backed by a quote and a source, kept at
korrents.com .
Under a name here, the quoted block is what they actually said.
The korrent beneath it is the claim those words support, in
korrents' wording — tap it to see the record, its source, and who
else holds it.
Nobody here wrote their own korrents. They are compiled from public
statements, and a person can change their mind, which is recorded too.

About the English under a post
Some people here publish in a language other than English. Where they
do, this site shows a machine translation beneath the post, in
this typeface — the site's own, not theirs.
The post itself is never changed, moved or hidden: what is set in the
serif above is exactly what the person published, and it is what to
quote them on. A translation can be wrong in ways that matter,
especially about tone.
Only the post's own words are translated. A quoted post, a linked
article and a belief on korrents.com
are left in their original language.
