It's isn't just to people with ADHD that this happens. Some tasks inherently take a certain amount of time. An appointment that breaks the afternoon into two blocks of time could leave you with no block long enough to complete a task.

So we've always told computer scientists from the very beginning that really it's really important to specify what it is, what's the software that you're writing is trying to accomplish before then going and writing it. And so now we actually have agent-based systems that can do the writing, but the importance of specifying what what it is you want has actually gone up because before you'd be handing it off to a very intelligent human who maybe has context or can ask you follow-up questions.

So when I look at engineers that have been, you know, coding for a long for a long time, you know, like for for years or for decades, this is a really really common failure mode is trying to over specify and it's trying to be overly specific and then, you know, get the model to do the to do the task exactly the way that you would have done it. And that that's just not the way the model works.

China is surrounded by 15 countries who are mostly hostile to it, right? with no good like mountain ranges or rivers or anything to really separate them. And then they get all their oil, almost all their oil from the Middle East, right in countries that they don't control, don't have strong diplomatic relationships with on fleets of oil tankers that they can't defend because their navy doesn't have the ability to to operate effectively in the Indian Ocean.
