Today in "iPhone apps are already iPad apps", here's Quick Reads for iOS running on iOS 27 as the screen gets wider with zero code changes so far. I really think this will be Apple's differentiator in folding phones. I'm kind of shocked how many Android apps simply don't take any advantage of a larger screen, while I think a lot of iPhone apps will do this automatically. If your app runs on the iPhone and iPad, it very likely may just work on day one without the dev needing to do anything. Related

This was the first year in a long time that the US stock index (VTI) got trounced by International stocks (VXUS). I was shocked by this difference: VTI: +18.6% VXUS: +33% (!!) This was good for my @Betterment account, which holds about an allocation of non-US stocks and has thus lagged a US-only portfolio for a while. Even after this run, VXUS is much cheaper, trading at a P/E ratio of 17 (and paying a 3.6% dividend) versus our ~27 ratio for the US index which a paltry 1.1 dividend. Will the outperformance continue in the coming years to help these two competitors even back out? Historically… Related
