  • What do YOU think, fellow @Tesla owners? I personally disagree with almost everything the company has changed about the cars in the past few years. Bring back more physical controls and don't make people fuck with a touchscreen while driving. Keep autopilot because people want to control their own speed and lane selection sometimes, and so much more. Or watch the sales keep going to competitors.   • This was the first year in a long time that the US stock index (VTI) got trounced by International stocks (VXUS). I was shocked by this difference: VTI: +18.6% VXUS: +33% (!!) This was good for my @Betterment account, which holds about an allocation of non-US stocks and has thus lagged a US-only portfolio for a while. Even after this run, VXUS is much cheaper, trading at a P/E ratio of 17 (and paying a 3.6% dividend) versus our ~27 ratio for the US index which a paltry 1.1 dividend.   • This is the best piece of news from 2025 in my opinion: Solar is already close to being the world's biggest energy source, with about 3 TW (= 3000 nuclear power plants!!) worth of installed capacity.   • Looking for some technical advice on an interesting AI-related problem. I've been running the MMM Forum website for 10 years with no problems. 45k registered users, 3M posts and 20M+ visitors over the years! But now, thousands of AI scraper bots are overrunning it around the clock. It makes sense, there is a LOT of wisdom in those posts from the users and it would make a juicy addition to any future digital brain. Here are some of the things some people miss consistently: 1) If you're going to go to all the trouble of owning rental houses, the damned things should at least outperform the stock market.
