Since I had to discuss the "pacing" with a lot of people this weekend, here are my two cents: I don't think pacing literally means that these companies will be "slowing down" training and development in any way. "Pacing" here means adding a framework for more checks. We have seen some of that "pacing" already in recent months, when Mythos wasn't released as-is but instead a delayed, nerfed Fable variant was released. It turns out he's had an interesting career doing all sorts of interesting stuff using the skills he developed by spending a decade writing/using theorem provers. At one point, he said, "if you use X like a theorem prover, it works really well", which surprised me to hear, but of course this is a highly generalizable skill just like compilers or benchmarking/evals. This book will not change anyone's mind, but it's a readable and entertaining summary of some of the more obvious cryptocurrency scams. I also had enough quibbles with it to write an extended review, which is a compliment of sorts.
