One very visible effect of AI this summer has been a large influx of bug fixes. In some sense, it is the opposite of AI slop. I manage widely deployed libraries and, in some cases, the number of pull requests has been doubled. In the simdjson library, I merged 92 pull requests in 2024, I am at 134 thus far. In many instances, AI found long standing well hidden bugs. It makes me happy because I dislike bugs. But this puts stress on people packaging and distributing these libraries. Sadly, I have also never received so many pull requests that I have not merged. For simdjson, I received 219 pull… Related

AUTODESIGNING PPTX: While trying to understand the new @github HydraFusion Project https://t.co/B03qBEWQQK I made my seventh attempt at a bespoke, and on-brand, PPTX deck tool for my brother @mariorod1 to cook with as a custom GitHub Copilot Canvas. It's getting an awfully lot easier to work within Swiss typographic grids in "creative" ways that make the literal roll of the dice satisfyingly fast without making so many LLM calls. Next, I'm looking forward to adding all the interesting GEPA and GRPO stuff that will enable compounding learning capabilities. —JM --- Cozy AI Recipe: - I pointed G… youtu.be

LAST WATCHED: SISU 2: ROAD TO REVENGE (2025) is, sadly, a more conventional film than the original. Still lots of bloody fun, but too similar to the original in its beats to be as enjoyable, trying harder to be “emotional” while losing some of the little textual depth that made the first film surprising.

It even becomes a kind of a prisoner's dilemma system because if you're the duke and you don't manipulate the papacy, if you don't bribe the pope, if you don't work hard to get your brother to be bishop, and your enemies do, you're screwed.

What is a korrent?
A korrent is a belief a person has stated in their own words: one
sentence stating the claim, backed by a quote and a source, kept at
korrents.com .
Under a name here, the quoted block is what they actually said.
The korrent beneath it is the claim those words support, in
korrents' wording — tap it to see the record, its source, and who
else holds it.
Nobody here wrote their own korrents. They are compiled from public
statements, and a person can change their mind, which is recorded too.

About the English under a post
Some people here publish in a language other than English. Where they
do, this site shows a machine translation beneath the post, in
this typeface — the site's own, not theirs.
The post itself is never changed, moved or hidden: what is set in the
serif above is exactly what the person published, and it is what to
quote them on. A translation can be wrong in ways that matter,
especially about tone.
Only the post's own words are translated. A quoted post, a linked
article and a belief on korrents.com
are left in their original language.
