RE: https://mstdn.social/@hkrn/117264890798907148 Much needed. When I was coaching my kid's soccer team 15 years ago, one kid had this mother who would go stand behind the other team's goal and shout trash talk. Not my only pathological-parent story… Related

NEW podcast episode is up! "Why Kids Can Learn 10x Faster Than We Think — @NielsHoven of @MentavaInc (Tim Coaching Session)" This episode is a bit different. It’s a live, unscripted working session with a founder, and I’ve only done one other earlier this year. Niels Hoven (@NielsHoven) is the founder and CEO of Mentava, a company building software to support fast learners. Eager kids are dramatically underserved by today’s education system, and Niels created Mentava to allow students to achieve their potential. Prior to Mentava, Niels worked at Cloudflare, ClassDojo, and Pocket Gems, where h… Related

there is no better way to improve a business than dogfooding yourself which means treating myself as a client for the wellness coaching main problem i've been trying to help myself with mouth-breathing at night. things i've tried so far: - nasal rinse (tiny bit of salt + baking soda) - coconut oil in nostrils - humidifier and i think i've finally figured out what's going on... current theory is retainer is preventing me from forming a good "lip seal" (upper retainer pushing upper lip up, keeping mouth open) so next week's a/b experiment is to try sleeping without retainer and take notes Related

So I've been experimenting with some 1:1 coaching, mostly from people who are close to FIRE but looking for a final checkup. Here are some of the things some people miss consistently: 1) If you're going to go to all the trouble of owning rental houses, the damned things should at least outperform the stock market. So make sure your cap rate is better than ~8% after all expenses. But this takes some skill, so I keep sending people to @CoachChadCarson's excellent all-in-one book on the subject, "The Small and Mighty Real Estate Investor" 2) If you're going to invest in stocks, you should unders… Related

What is a korrent?
A korrent is a belief a person has stated in their own words: one
sentence stating the claim, backed by a quote and a source, kept at
korrents.com .
Under a name here, the quoted block is what they actually said.
The korrent beneath it is the claim those words support, in
korrents' wording — tap it to see the record, its source, and who
else holds it.
Nobody here wrote their own korrents. They are compiled from public
statements, and a person can change their mind, which is recorded too.

About the English under a post
Some people here publish in a language other than English. Where they
do, this site shows a machine translation beneath the post, in
this typeface — the site's own, not theirs.
The post itself is never changed, moved or hidden: what is set in the
serif above is exactly what the person published, and it is what to
quote them on. A translation can be wrong in ways that matter,
especially about tone.
Only the post's own words are translated. A quoted post, a linked
article and a belief on korrents.com
are left in their original language.
