I made this floating-scrollbar #CSS demo as the result of a discussion we had in today’s Front-End Study Hall: https://codepen.io/editor/meyerweb/pen/01a0b0bd-0100-750d-8c24-745f6318896d I don’t know if it’s actually a good idea to do something like this (probably not), and it has a few styling limitations (no drop shadows or glows), but it was interesting to try to hit a design brief with clipping paths and the relatively new `shape()` value. Their words, before
I ended up making this site with Tailwind CSS, and it helped me make a site I felt pretty happy with my minimal CSS skills and just 2 evenings of work!

Their words now
I’m a lot better at CSS than I was when I started using Tailwind
Ultimately Tailwind is limiting: if you want to do Weird Stuff in your CSS, it’s not always possible with Tailwind. Those limits can be extremely useful (a lot of this post is about me reimplementing some of Tailwind’s limits!) but at this point I’d like to be able to pick and choose.

2 beliefs, in the piece's order there
Their words
And I think we'll see the same thing with automation where uh basically robot plus human is much better than just human or just robot. Uh and and that just like makes total sense. It also makes it much easier to get all the technology bootstrapped because when it's robot plus human, now there's a lot more potential for the robot to like actually learn on the job, acquire new skills.

robots help with uh physical things uh physical work. And if producing robots is itself physical work, then getting really good at robotics should help with that. It's a little circular, of course.

What is a korrent?
A korrent is a belief a person has stated in their own words: one
sentence stating the claim, backed by a quote and a source, kept at
korrents.com .
Under a name here, the quoted block is what they actually said.
The korrent beneath it is the claim those words support, in
korrents' wording — tap it to see the record, its source, and who
else holds it.
Nobody here wrote their own korrents. They are compiled from public
statements, and a person can change their mind, which is recorded too.

About the English under a post
Some people here publish in a language other than English. Where they
do, this site shows a machine translation beneath the post, in
this typeface — the site's own, not theirs.
The post itself is never changed, moved or hidden: what is set in the
serif above is exactly what the person published, and it is what to
quote them on. A translation can be wrong in ways that matter,
especially about tone.
Only the post's own words are translated. A quoted post, a linked
article and a belief on korrents.com
are left in their original language.
