Before If you're a guy in your early 20's, get married and have kids. Go into debt if you have to.
Now Most people should get married and have kids much earlier than the current average (and have more kids than the current average). Doing this successfully (without screwing it up with selfish pride) will make the world better and make them happier than anything else they’re doing.

Derived data such as a search index should be kept up to date as background work, never inside a foreground user request.
Request-path ownership matters. Don't let derived-index maintenance happen inside a foreground user request. Whether you use SQLite, a managed service, or something else, keeping a search index fresh is background work and should stay off the user-facing path.
Implementing Hybrid Semantic + Lexical Search Said 16 Mar 2026
AI coding agents have made redesigning existing systems cheap enough that developers actually redesign instead of living with a flawed design.
AI agents make redesigns cheap. The reason I could go through three rounds of "build, ship, regret, redesign" in a matter of days is that the agent did most of the implementation work.
Implementing Hybrid Semantic + Lexical Search Said 16 Mar 2026
An AI agent's confidence that something will work is not evidence that it actually will.
structural refactors break assumptions you didn't know you had, and "the agent was confident it would work" is not the same as "it will work."

Architectural iteration is slow because a design usually has to be built before its quality can be judged.
That is the part that usually makes architectural iteration slow: you have to build the thing before you can have an informed opinion about whether it is the right thing.

What is a korrent?
A korrent is a belief a person has stated in their own words: one sentence stating the claim, backed by a quote and a source, kept at korrents.com.
Under a name here, the quoted block is what they actually said. The korrent beneath it is the claim those words support, in korrents' wording — tap it to see the record, its source, and who else holds it.
Nobody here wrote their own korrents. They are compiled from public statements, and a person can change their mind, which is recorded too.

- I used to have a way in Kody for you to generate UI and display it inline in the chat (using the MCP Apps spec). It was cool, but I ripped it out because all the agents you want to use will implement a first-party way to do this. Kody is for things useful outside of chat. I may bring back in the inline thing eventually. But Kody is about filling gaps in your agents, not competing with them. About the English under a post
Some people here publish in a language other than English. Where they do, this site shows a machine translation beneath the post, in this typeface — the site's own, not theirs.
The post itself is never changed, moved or hidden: what is set in the serif above is exactly what the person published, and it is what to quote them on. A translation can be wrong in ways that matter, especially about tone.
Only the post's own words are translated. A quoted post, a linked article and a belief on korrents.com are left in their original language.
