Every marketing job post should ask for proof of AI use and give candidates rules for using AI.Their words
Only 8% of job posts ask for proof of AI use, like examples, a portfolio, or an assignment. And only 9 companies give candidates rules for using AI when they apply. But, every job post should do both.

Their words
I thought the majority of job posts would ask not just for basic AI skills, but also for candidates to be able to build with AI, run a team of agents, and operate as a generalist. After all, I’ve been pushing a hypothesis for over a year that marketing generalists will overtake specialists on marketing teams.

Most marketing teams use AI in single-player mode, so one marketer's gains do not reach the team.Their words
Most teams are still stuck in single-player mode with AI: Marketers are building valuable things with Claude on their own, but most of that is not shared. One marketer may get dramatically more efficient, but that doesn’t mean the team does.

Their words
OOH isn’t just an awareness play, it’s a very specific kind of awareness. A billboard only buys short, high-impact, shallow awareness, so if what you really need is deeper education, experiences, or relationship-driven recommendations, it won’t work. And if you’re pre-PMF, it’s likely not the way to figure that out.

Paid advertising is not working like it used to: search traffic is falling and LinkedIn is saturated.Their words
But lately, even paid lovers can’t pretend it’s working like it used to. Search traffic is going down, LinkedIn is very saturated, and other paid channels are hard to crack. For the record, I fall into the “I love it” camp—I started my career in it. IMO, running ads has the excitement of something like day trading, but with creative assets and company money.
-
Their words
If you go beyond the basics and build out a feedback loop between organic and paid channels, paid can really start paying dividends. But these dividends won’t always show up in last-click reports. You’re going for “incrementality”: Paid lifts your other efforts in ways that aren’t directly attributable.

Paid advertising should be part of the overall marketing plan, not an isolated channel.Their words
Paid should be part of your overall marketing plan, not an isolated channel. Siloed marketers and siloed marketing don’t work; it’s the era of the Gen Marketer, remember! Paid can inform what you’re doing in other areas of marketing, and other areas can inform what you should do in paid.

B2B startups would grow faster with a CMO, and marketers deserve the same seat at the table as sales leaders.Their words
Plenty of B2B companies are growing fast without a CMO. Would they grow faster with one? I think yes, but the data can’t prove it. Do marketers deserve more senior titles and the same seat at the table as a C-level sales leader? I also think yes.

What is a korrent?
A korrent is a belief a person has stated in their own words: one sentence stating the claim, backed by a quote and a source, kept at korrents.com.
Under a name here, the quoted block is what they actually said. The korrent beneath it is the claim those words support, in korrents' wording — tap it to see the record, its source, and who else holds it.
Nobody here wrote their own korrents. They are compiled from public statements, and a person can change their mind, which is recorded too.
About the English under a post
Some people here publish in a language other than English. Where they do, this site shows a machine translation beneath the post, in this typeface — the site's own, not theirs.
The post itself is never changed, moved or hidden: what is set in the serif above is exactly what the person published, and it is what to quote them on. A translation can be wrong in ways that matter, especially about tone.
Only the post's own words are translated. A quoted post, a linked article and a belief on korrents.com are left in their original language.
