I’m most impressed with the games that have created what appears to be a full living, breathing world. Games that give you the sense that you’re just a part of it and there’s a lot more happening and there’s always more. And it gives you the sense that you could go anywhere and do anything. Even though these games really do have finite limitations and there are places you can’t go, really creating that sense of wonder is just a magical thing. Like Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

With Grand Theft Auto, it’s just the realism and feeling that you’re in this huge city and that anything can happen and it’s all living and breathing and you’re just a part of it. The level with which Rockstar has brought quality to that genre is astonishing.

And then the other game that I really got immersed in was Zork, which was a text adventure game. It would tell you where you are and what you see and you type in commands like go north or pick up sword or open door and explore a world that way. So the game didn’t have any graphics, but in your mind you had this elaborate picture of what you were seeing there, and it really brought in [inaudible 00:16:09] inspired imagination more than other things.

What is a korrent?

A korrent is a belief a person has stated in their own words: one sentence stating the claim, backed by a quote and a source, kept at korrents.com.

Under a name here, the quoted block is what they actually said. The korrent beneath it is the claim those words support, in korrents' wording — tap it to see the record, its source, and who else holds it.

Nobody here wrote their own korrents. They are compiled from public statements, and a person can change their mind, which is recorded too.

About the English under a post

Some people here publish in a language other than English. Where they do, this site shows a machine translation beneath the post, in this typeface — the site's own, not theirs.

The post itself is never changed, moved or hidden: what is set in the serif above is exactly what the person published, and it is what to quote them on. A translation can be wrong in ways that matter, especially about tone.

Only the post's own words are translated. A quoted post, a linked article and a belief on korrents.com are left in their original language.
