One of Michael Moritz's best stories on obsession is about the ride he got from Bill Gates when Microsoft was still private. "Bill Gates gave me a ride to the airport in his car. The radio was missing in the car, a big, gaping hole in the dashboard. I said, Bill, what happened to you, did you get ripped off? And he said no, I had it taken out. Why'd you have it taken out? Well, I drive from my home to the office, which is 7 minutes and 32 seconds, and then I'll drive from the office to the airport, which is however long. And he said if I've got the radio, I'm afraid that I'll switch it on and… Quoting @patrick_oshag My conversation with Michael Moritz, one of the great venture investors of the last 40 years. https://t.co/OL0LzGsXKY can now orchestrate subagents with different models & reasoning efforts. e.g: Fable planning and Grok executing. Fable is a genius, Grok is a fast workhorse. ① Simple. 𝙰𝙶𝙴𝙽𝚃𝚂.𝚖𝚍 or your prompt can indicate this preference. ② Steer as you please. It’s extremely enjoyable to use. You just talk to the agent and interrupt at will. Worth noting this works with any model, any gateway. No fancy server-side routing. Just harnessing (no pun intended) the model’s intelligence and ability to orchestrate. Quoting @fazxes fx v0.0.9 Use a frontier model to steer, then hand implementation to a fast workhorse. • Give each subagent its own model and reasoning effort • Subagents keep working while you steer • Send feedback to subagents mid-task • Switch models with Ctrl+P without losing your draft or images • New convers… Related

I opened up Apple Maps' search box and its new ads suggested I go to JetBlue Airways, the JetBlue terminal at JFK airport 39 miles away. I opened up Google Maps' search box, and 100% of the screen space is devoted to my presets (Home/Work/etc.) and my Recent searches. Apple continues to embarrass itself with its shitty ad plays. In the meantime, I'll keep using Google Maps, because it's just *better*, and — something I never thought I'd say — it respects me more as the user, with fewer ads. 🤯 Google Related

Their words, before
I think the challenge is that everyone can now build apps But 1) almost nobody has distribution (like an audience), or 2) the money to pay for distribution (ads or UGC), or 3) the creative genius to get distribution for free (classically called guerilla marketing)

Their words now
I thought it'd be distribution but who knows, obviously creativity and ideas, but if you can copy a successful app in an hour, then how does that differentiating work?

Their words
That was the victorious idea. So it's not the drugs. Actually, that idea to go through the Ardennes Mountains, if you think monocausal, you would say that's the reason. That idea was genius, and Hitler immediately understood it, because before, the plan was to attack in the north of Belgium, which is the same as World War I.

Or they are the kind of people who make a certain game and they can't do anything else. Narrow genius. Quoting @SandyofCthulhu Why game sequels sometimes get worse. The sequence: 1) the devs make a hit game. 2) publishers want the devs to shab out more the same. 3) we want to do something new. What is a korrent?
A korrent is a belief a person has stated in their own words: one
sentence stating the claim, backed by a quote and a source, kept at
korrents.com .
Under a name here, the quoted block is what they actually said.
The korrent beneath it is the claim those words support, in
korrents' wording — tap it to see the record, its source, and who
else holds it.
Nobody here wrote their own korrents. They are compiled from public
statements, and a person can change their mind, which is recorded too.

About the English under a post
Some people here publish in a language other than English. Where they
do, this site shows a machine translation beneath the post, in
this typeface — the site's own, not theirs.
The post itself is never changed, moved or hidden: what is set in the
serif above is exactly what the person published, and it is what to
quote them on. A translation can be wrong in ways that matter,
especially about tone.
Only the post's own words are translated. A quoted post, a linked
article and a belief on korrents.com
are left in their original language.
