Next step: Israel less and less called a "Jewish State" but a Zionist one --since it is analog to calling "Christian State" a Crusader one. Quoting @mdubowitz The collapse in public support for Israel could trigger a financial and economic war against the Jewish state. The architecture for it is already taking shape. My latest: Related

For example, most people will operate in a way that maximizes the amount of money they will get and that minimizes the amount of work they have to do to get it. To see this, just leave someone unsupervised and allow them to bill you for what they have done. Be especially wary of this conflict of interest when people are advising you on matters that will affect how much money they earn--such as the lawyer who spends a lot of billable hours giving you advice, or the salesperson who advises you on what to purchase while receiving a commission on the amount that you spend. #principleoftheday Related

Anti-Semitism is the organization of politics against the Jews - Ruth Wisse: Otherwise known as: Why confront your own failures when you can blame the Jews—or the world’s only Jewish state? If I were a Birmingham resident I would be furious Quoting @habibi_uk "We at Birmingham Labour really want you to know that we are doing everything we can to hurt Israel." In my kitchen there is a jar of honey gifted to me by Phil Rosenberg, the President of the Board of Deputies, who insisted I take it home for my family, along with a bag of apples, because it would not be a proper new year otherwise. So let me begin the simple way: Shana tova u'metuka. A good and sweet new year to every Jewish family in Britain. The custom of dipping an apple in honey is one of the most hopeful things I know. It is not a claim that the year gone by was sweet. It is a decision that the year ahead should be. And I know that the year behind us has been anything but. Two Jewish m… Related

In a difficult and dangerous world, a decade on from Brexit, there is a risk that Britain loses the confidence to lead and stand up for its values. I’m not prepared to let that happen. It is more important than ever that Britain stands for something. We have called for years for a two-state solution in the Middle East, but we must recognise that those words are meaningless unless we back them up with action. For too long, we have been hesitant to act, fearful of being accused of being anti-Israel. Today we are announcing carefully judged, targeted steps that are not aimed at the Israeli peopl… Related

The Jewish population on Earth is still below pre-holocaust levels. The Palestinians? Yes the people who repeatedly (back to 1948) rejected generous two state solutions in favor of violence and insistence on a one state solution from the river to the sea are the true victims here. You know, I still think it was the 6 mm industrially murdered Jews. Quoting @mattxiv “nazis got off relatively unpunished for the holocaust while palestinians ended up paying for it despite having nothing to do with it” is not antisemitic, it’s factual and obvious Related

We send our love and support to the Jewish community in Manchester and beyond who last night gathered to remember Melvin Cravitz and Adrian Daulby, who were killed defending their synagogue last year. My thoughts are with their families and all those who have been affected by the attack. I know for many Jewish people, the sorrow and fear from that day has not lifted and I know we must do more to protect communities across the country. I want Jewish people to know that their safety is a priority of mine and I’m determined to stamp out antisemitism for good. Related

Fascinating subject. Countries are made of stories. Kings didn’t need their subjects to agree, but nations do. So to build a nation, they need to make a story that helps people feel a shared identity, nationalism, and what distinguishes them from their neighbors. Back-creating a history. What is a korrent?
A korrent is a belief a person has stated in their own words: one
sentence stating the claim, backed by a quote and a source, kept at
korrents.com .
Under a name here, the quoted block is what they actually said.
The korrent beneath it is the claim those words support, in
korrents' wording — tap it to see the record, its source, and who
else holds it.
Nobody here wrote their own korrents. They are compiled from public
statements, and a person can change their mind, which is recorded too.

About the English under a post
Some people here publish in a language other than English. Where they
do, this site shows a machine translation beneath the post, in
this typeface — the site's own, not theirs.
The post itself is never changed, moved or hidden: what is set in the
serif above is exactly what the person published, and it is what to
quote them on. A translation can be wrong in ways that matter,
especially about tone.
Only the post's own words are translated. A quoted post, a linked
article and a belief on korrents.com
are left in their original language.
