🌎 Now redesigning the https://t.co/HGCLKS5BD6 profile trips globe from scratch I've always wanted to add space trips, so starting with the moon here which you can add as a future trip, also adding Mars etc. Other trips also need to work here though like going into orbit like @satofishi did on @SpaceX's Dragon capsule which will be more in reach for more people hopefully pretty soon! Quoting @levelsio ✨ Finally built a timeline for https://t.co/HGCLKS5BD6 now I always wanted to make my site a bit more social, because I had profiles and trip overlaps and you could kinda see where other people went, but not something like this So on this new page you can see people near you, where everyone's trave… Related

"The groups best known for a Harry Potter fan fic and boosting the profile of crypto scammer SBF might be a bunch of silly losers? You're telling me this for the first time." Quoting @jessesingal we've reached the phase where a bunch of people have learned about EA or rationalism for the first time, have decided it's insanely weird and cultish, and are now reverse-engineering reasons to hold this belief crypto Related

Michael Moritz on the Time profile that ended his relationship with Steve Jobs, and whether he was ever in awe of him. "Steve was convinced that he was going to be named Man of the Year, even though nobody had told him that. But worst of all, the profile, which he hated for very good reason, and I was appalled by for different reasons, severed my relationship with Steve. Back then at Time, these things went through an editorial combine harvester. So what came out in the bale at the end probably didn't resemble very much of the straw that got fed in. And so the whole tone of the piece was mali… Quoting @patrick_oshag My conversation with Michael Moritz, one of the great venture investors of the last 40 years. What is wrong with @instagram! Someone has created a fake profile of a friend, registering the exact same username as his, with an added underscore at the end. So username is main account, username_ is the fake one. The fake profile's photo is copied from main, even original photos of friend himself have been lifted and posted as their own. I've never seen a more blatant impersonation. And they're reaching out to his friends asking for money. A bunch of us reported the fake profile for impersonation, and Instagram refused to take any action. Related

Their words
Then you need a metag game, which for Duolingo is kind of like the path, but it's also the leaderboard, achievements, kind of long-term things that you're going to strive to such that you have like long-term, I guess, motivation uh to continue doing the thing. And then the profile is also critical because you build up a profile over time. It's a reflection of your investment inside the product experience. And so when you nail those three things, you can end up with a long-term learning journey that can be quite successful.

a profile tells you how much time a program spent in a given operation; but not how much time it would spend if you optimized that operation.

Their words
Profilers can only show you "what is there"; skillful performance engineering requires understanding the information that shapes and informs the profile but is "not there" in the profile itself.

What is a korrent?
A korrent is a belief a person has stated in their own words: one
sentence stating the claim, backed by a quote and a source, kept at
korrents.com .
Under a name here, the quoted block is what they actually said.
The korrent beneath it is the claim those words support, in
korrents' wording — tap it to see the record, its source, and who
else holds it.
Nobody here wrote their own korrents. They are compiled from public
statements, and a person can change their mind, which is recorded too.

About the English under a post
Some people here publish in a language other than English. Where they
do, this site shows a machine translation beneath the post, in
this typeface — the site's own, not theirs.
The post itself is never changed, moved or hidden: what is set in the
serif above is exactly what the person published, and it is what to
quote them on. A translation can be wrong in ways that matter,
especially about tone.
Only the post's own words are translated. A quoted post, a linked
article and a belief on korrents.com
are left in their original language.
