Normies don't vibe code, they just ask something like "do my bookkeeping" or "file my tax" or "organize a movie night and send invites" or "generate a flyer for movie night" or "edit my video" They don't ever see code, vibe code, or do anything with code, their AI chat app just does it for them
Well, spatial intelligence eventually must enable us to both generate what the space is, reason within it, and being able to edit and interact within it.
No one was happy. Because no one knows what they want until they receive it. You don't know what a program should do until you play with it. So in the agentic age, you should resist the temptation to be overly specific upfront. Be as vague as you can to manifest something, then interact with the something. The way you arrive at good software is you write a little bit of software, and then you try to use it. It is in the process of using software that you discover what you really want.
The revelation I've had working on Omarchy the last three months is that to get that magical 10X, 100X, in a few rare cases, 1000X productivity boost, you have to interact with the agents directly, and you cannot intermediate that bandwidth with another human because it's simply too slow.
For the first time, AI has "hands" - that is, the ability to reach out and interact with the tools on your computer and in your browser, just as you would.
But there are now at least three randomized control trials that have shown that omega-3 status and B vitamin status interact and they're dependent on one another. So, if you give uh B vitamins to somebody who has elevated homocyine, you bring down their homocyine, but they have poor omega-3 levels, you don't see any benefit.
The moment you ship something, you're stuck supporting it forever. And by supporting, it means any future feature you build is going to like interact with it. So you still have to be very conservative with what you put out there. It's hard to undo anything. Just cuz we can ship 10 times more doesn't mean we have 10 times as many good ideas to ship out there.
And I really do think that two agents are better than one. So, what's a good example? When I have Codex interact with another agent, it can give so much more context about me and what I want than I would be able to type.
I go to myself, "Well, yeah, but what do you mean by code?" Because that kind of implies nobody's writing anything. Well, we're at least doing some prompting. We're having some interaction with the genie. What's that going to be if it's not some form of code in some way? I think the nature of what code is is going to be quite possibly for a very radically different. But I think there is still a need to produce it and be able to interact with it in some way.
And there’s a weird thing that happens that’s just kind of a human nature thing. The less you interact with somebody, the more you sort of become alienated from them and vilify their point of view.
And what makes an MMO, massively multiplayer online game, massive is having the other people there. And they’re so important or else the world feels kind of wrong and dead. But the concept that we have to force you to interact with them to do anything is very off-putting to a lot of people.
The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman is a delightful whodunnit set at a retirement home in the English countryside. Great characters. Fun twists. An endearing sense of humor. It's very relatable; the internet is so toxic but we kind of have no choice but to interact with it if we want to be heard as musicians / writers / artists / citizens.
I think federation is the long-term solution to these problems. Eventually, I dream we will be able to seamlessly interact with people across platforms.
So at some point, I think making it so that you could build an AI version of yourself that could interact with people not after you die, but while you're here to help people fulfill this desire to interact with you and your desire to build a community.
