Did you hear about the UK government report on ecosystem collapse? It was created not only by the environment department but also intelligence agencies like MI5 and MI6. Reporters were invited to see the unveiling of this report in October 2025 - but at the last minute the Prime Minister blocked it! Luckily the Greens forced the release of a 14-page redacted version. I turn 50 today. This is a message to my kids but I offer it to you in case any of it rings useful. I was born in Sri Lanka in 1976 in a country that, at the time, was about to enter a decades long civil war. My father was able to get stationed at the Sri Lankan High Commission in Canada for four years in the early 80s - when some of the fighting was most severe - and which from our vantage point in Canada gave us some respite from an otherwise omnipresent conflict. He came as a diplomat but then my father filed for refugee status after four years when his life was threatened by militants. We… Related

Bluesky Earlier this year, the FTC Chair said "you're going to have a hard time keeping up with the number of cases we're gonna be bringing" on privacy. It seems like this is starting; the FTC has filed a case against a company for promising privacy while running ad trackers on their site, which share info Related
Mastodon Earlier this year, the FTC Chair said "you're going to have a hard time keeping up with the number of cases we're gonna be bringing" on privacy. I guess this is starting? See https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/Hims-Complaint-Redacted-E-Filed.pdf. The bulk of the complaint is about standard scammy practices, but there's this section where the FTC is going after them because they promised to keep information private but use tracking pixels from various ad providers, which inherently share information about the user information. POLL: ICE has been abused by the Fake News Media at levels never seen before. They are Great Patriots who work hard, and do a fantastic job in a very hostile environment. Much of this hostility is caused by the Dumocrats and the Fake News. The concept I have had for quite some time — A strong feeling that the name of these Patriots, “ICE,” should be changed to, “NICE,” in that it will totally discombobulate Crooked, Dishonest, and Unpatriotic Reporters and Journalists. For them to say, “We went to a NICE Facility today,” as opposed to “ICE” or, “NICE Agents have deported a Violent Drug Dealer… Related

What is a korrent?
A korrent is a belief a person has stated in their own words: one
sentence stating the claim, backed by a quote and a source, kept at
korrents.com .
Under a name here, the quoted block is what they actually said.
The korrent beneath it is the claim those words support, in
korrents' wording — tap it to see the record, its source, and who
else holds it.
Nobody here wrote their own korrents. They are compiled from public
statements, and a person can change their mind, which is recorded too.

About the English under a post
Some people here publish in a language other than English. Where they
do, this site shows a machine translation beneath the post, in
this typeface — the site's own, not theirs.
The post itself is never changed, moved or hidden: what is set in the
serif above is exactly what the person published, and it is what to
quote them on. A translation can be wrong in ways that matter,
especially about tone.
Only the post's own words are translated. A quoted post, a linked
article and a belief on korrents.com
are left in their original language.
