Your vote still only matters in an otherwise perfect tie, which is more probable in a purple state, but still exceptionally trivially so. Sorry to be the pedant here :) We vote out of shared civic duty, but statistically our individual vote (almost) never matters. Btw, this also means that people who stay home because they are in a red or blue state are also missing the point!
