Async/await makes asynchronous code easier to write without healing the split it created, and the divide reappears as soon as you write a higher-order function.
It is better. I will take async-await over bare callbacks or futures any day of the week. But we're lying to ourselves if we think all of our troubles are gone.

- I go solo dispersed camping sometimes and I finally buckled down and got a satellite communicator. It's definitely a good idea for me to have one. But it also feels really weird to spend a decent chunk of money on an object I hope to never ever use.
