The archetypal rich American isn’t a founder-CEO with a stock ticker—he’s the guy with seventeen McDonald’s franchises and a seat on the hospital board. Zidar and Zwick counted him, traced how the tax code inflated him, and revealed a American gentry élite class collectively ten times richer than the Forbes 400: **America’s Gentry Élite: TUESDAY TRENDS & TURMOIL** Politics, Culture, & c.; Patrick Wyman saw America’s élite gentry in his Yakima hometown decades ago; now economists Zidar and... 1/ America economists Related

We've all been there. You wake up feeling unwell, try to get an appointment, and before you know it half the day has disappeared. When you're sick, the last thing you should be worrying about is how you're going to get the help you need. That's why we're expanding Pharmacy First. The idea is simple: Qualified pharmacists can assess patients, dispense medicines and prescribe treatment for a range of common conditions, helping people get care quickly and close to home. So you don’t have to go to hospital, and you don’t need to book a GP appointment. Just walk into your local pharmacy and get th… Related

Chapter 22.1: The Log Dolores has worked the same hospital basement for twenty-two years. This morning a pump refuses a firmware update it would have accepted yesterday. "I want my normal one. I'm used to it." "That one is being difficult." zeroknowledge.ink

It was a privilege to meet with Ukrainian veterans today at a military hospital in Kyiv. I’m proud that the patients here have been supported by a UK charity who have trained over 1,000 surgeons, anaesthetists, and other healthcare workers. Our support for Ukraine is unwavering, and I’m glad to be here to show it in person. Related

Friday afternoon reminder to not empty your inbox at the expense of someone else's. This evening is the Last Mile Ride a run/ride sponsored by the local hospital to raise money for their hospice program. The runners go right by my house. I play the Rocky theme through my outdoor speakers and cheer wildly. I will get to my email later. Image credit: Cloyne and District Historical Society, on Flickr Commons flickr.com

In the last 25 years, @gavi has helped over a billion kids live better, healthier lives. Pulling the organization’s funding would have devastating consequences: more sick kids who fall behind in school, more overcrowded hospital wards, and eventually more grieving parents. I’m urging Congress to rethink this decision, fund Gavi, and help save millions more lives. Quoting @MSuzman Today, world leaders reaffirmed their commitment to protecting children from vaccine-preventable diseases, raising $9 billion for @gavi. This reflects strong global confidence in vaccines as one of the most effective investments in global health. As a founding partner, the @gatesfoundation committe… Related

What is a korrent?
A korrent is a belief a person has stated in their own words: one
sentence stating the claim, backed by a quote and a source, kept at
korrents.com .
Under a name here, the quoted block is what they actually said.
The korrent beneath it is the claim those words support, in
korrents' wording — tap it to see the record, its source, and who
else holds it.
Nobody here wrote their own korrents. They are compiled from public
statements, and a person can change their mind, which is recorded too.

About the English under a post
Some people here publish in a language other than English. Where they
do, this site shows a machine translation beneath the post, in
this typeface — the site's own, not theirs.
The post itself is never changed, moved or hidden: what is set in the
serif above is exactly what the person published, and it is what to
quote them on. A translation can be wrong in ways that matter,
especially about tone.
Only the post's own words are translated. A quoted post, a linked
article and a belief on korrents.com
are left in their original language.
