I don't think anyone seriously advocates "let anyone post whatever", but rather the question is (as so often) who is responsible. If the author themselves say they don't fully understand what some AI has proved, and it's wrong, then whose fault is that? Does the arXiv get the blame for allowing the content? Fwiw, I think that in this case AI solves more problems than it creates.
