Artist and developer who makes esoteric software, games and tools aboard a sailboat as part of Hundred Rabbits with Rekka Bellum; creator of the Uxn virtual machine and the Orca livecoding environment.
One of the first game we ever published for #Uxn was Donsol, five years ago, to celebrate, we've made a whole new version of the game with new monster sprites, better resolution and animations. We had originally made it with the Playdate in mind, but they didn't want it so we're making available to play it directly in the itchio page, or via your favourite Uxn emulator! https://hundredrabbits.itch.io/donsol We hope that you enjoy it. Have a good autumn. :) Rek & Dev Related

My favorite CarPlay feature is when it's reading a text message to me and I go to tap the "Done" button and it suddenly turns into a "Call” button underneath my finger and I have to wait for all of the animations to finish before I can actually end the call and then I wonder (a) did the person notice that I called them for a few seconds and (b) do I need to explain that now and (c) are they going to call me back now and (d) HOW DID THIS INTERFACE EVER SHIP oh my god Related

Most animations don’t feel off because of the code. They feel off because of the decisions behind them: the easing, the timing, or the properties you chose to animate. My course teaches you how to make those decisions. You can enroll for the next 10 days. Here’s what’s inside: Related

This works really well btw, at the end of your query ask your LLM to "structure your response as HTML", then view the generated file in your browser. I've also had some success asking the LLM to present its output as slideshows, etc. More generally, imo audio is the human-preferred input to AIs but vision (images/animations/video) is the preferred output from them. Around a ~third of our brains are a massively parallel processor dedicated to vision, it is the 10-lane superhighway of information into brain. As AI improves, I think we'll see a progression that takes advantage: 1) raw text (hard… LLMs Related

What is a korrent?
A korrent is a belief a person has stated in their own words: one
sentence stating the claim, backed by a quote and a source, kept at
korrents.com .
Under a name here, the quoted block is what they actually said.
The korrent beneath it is the claim those words support, in
korrents' wording — tap it to see the record, its source, and who
else holds it.
Nobody here wrote their own korrents. They are compiled from public
statements, and a person can change their mind, which is recorded too.

About the English under a post
Some people here publish in a language other than English. Where they
do, this site shows a machine translation beneath the post, in
this typeface — the site's own, not theirs.
The post itself is never changed, moved or hidden: what is set in the
serif above is exactly what the person published, and it is what to
quote them on. A translation can be wrong in ways that matter,
especially about tone.
Only the post's own words are translated. A quoted post, a linked
article and a belief on korrents.com
are left in their original language.
