A funny side effect of the crackdown on "AI" scraping is that I keep getting banned from sites for browsing too quickly. I barely use reddit anymore and I still managed to get IP banned for scraping (the error message indicated that I should get in touch with them if I want to do bulk accesses).

I think that they're trying to shift the narrative. They're trying to protect themselves. We saw this years ago when ByteDance was actually banned from some OpenAI APIs for training on outputs. There's other AI startups that most people, if you're in the AI culture, were like they just told us they trained on OpenAI outputs and they never got banned.
I foresee a much more radical approach to generative UI to emerge shortly — maybe in 5 years or so. In this second-generation generative UI, the user interface is generated afresh every time the user accesses the app. Most important, this means that different users will get drastically different designs.
