It is really dangerous when design operates in a silo outside of product and engineering, as if it had a different goal and did not need to work with those two groups to be successful.

Designers on a large team have to collaborate, share and build on one another's work rather than going off into their own silos, because that is how the org chart gets shipped.
they have to be collaborating and sharing and trying to sort of build on what one another is doing and not feel like they are like going off into their own silos and doing their own stuff cuz that's how you ship the org chart.

Teams can't be debating in pixels in Figma; most often it is better to bias towards building something to make sure it works.
we can't be debating in pixels in Figma, which already I know seemed like pretty archaic given everyone's clouding everything. Everyone has like their fleet of cloud interns. We really like want to I think most often like bias towards building something so that we can just make sure it works

Details are worth digging into to make the experience excellent only once the foundations are in place; doing it the other way around can sort of be a waste of time.

In a financial product, small UI bugs really do matter because over time they are paper cuts that wear down trust.
if you open our app and you see a bug and you feel like it's janky then you're like I don't trust these people with my money. That framing has like really helped the team I think level up and realize that like oh these like small UI bugs really do matter because over time they're paper cuts and they wear down that trust battery

A designer should start as a generalist so as to identify the spike, the thing they bring to the team that nobody else can.
you should start as a generalist so you can identify the spike. Like what is the thing you're going to bring to the team that nobody else can bring that you're so exceptional at? That like you get energy from and can really lean into.

What is a korrent?
A korrent is a belief a person has stated in their own words: one sentence stating the claim, backed by a quote and a source, kept at korrents.com.
Under a name here, the quoted block is what they actually said. The korrent beneath it is the claim those words support, in korrents' wording — tap it to see the record, its source, and who else holds it.
Nobody here wrote their own korrents. They are compiled from public statements, and a person can change their mind, which is recorded too.

About the English under a post
Some people here publish in a language other than English. Where they do, this site shows a machine translation beneath the post, in this typeface — the site's own, not theirs.
The post itself is never changed, moved or hidden: what is set in the serif above is exactly what the person published, and it is what to quote them on. A translation can be wrong in ways that matter, especially about tone.
Only the post's own words are translated. A quoted post, a linked article and a belief on korrents.com are left in their original language.
