B2B systems are used by human beings, and if one is designed really well they will use it more, think more positively about it, trust it more and become its advocate.
These are still human beings that are ultimately using the system and if it's designed really well they'll use it more. They'll they'll they'll use it more efficiently. They'll think more positively about it. They'll trust it more and they'll become your advocate.

A design team should be built from people who really care about the work and about getting better, with no egos.
I think it was more just around I need to find some folks that really care about the work and wanting to get better. like no egos.

With today's tools and culture, a head of design and four designers are ample even for a company that wants to get big.
I don't think I need more than what I have today, which is myself and four designers. I really don't. I think that the level of horsepower that we have, not just because of the people, but because of the tools and the people and our culture and our product, I feel like that is ample.

Hiring all the same archetype of designer means no one improves as much as they could, and the team has gaps.
if I hire all the same archetype, like we all care about the same things, that's great. It's really great, but like no one's going to really improve as much as maybe you want. Plus, you're going to have gaps.

With abundance, you no longer have to debate and prioritize an idea and get approval just to learn whether it is any good; you build it and then you decide.
You don't have to debate an idea. prioritize it, get approval, assign a team just to learn if your idea is any good. You build it and then you decide.

Cheap building will not mean making the same amount of software faster; it will mean making way more software.
I don't think it means that we're going to make the same amount of software faster. I think what it really means is we're just going to make way more software.

Making something and making something permanent are two really different decisions, and with abundance we need to figure out what lasts.
just making something and then making something permanent are two really different decisions. I think that like that's just a big distinction is that we're just going to have we have this abundance. We need to figure out what what lasts.

Share design work really early and really often.
I think our tendency here is to share it really early and to share it really often.

In critique, being polite and steering people to make it their own idea is less useful than just telling them what is wrong with it.
And sometimes not even being so polite about it cuz that's, you know, I think how you get taught to be polite in critique. It's just like you try to make it their idea. You try to suggest things. It's just like, "No, man. Just tell me what's wrong with it.

If you're not shipping software now, you're behind. I just want to at least be at the forefront. I don't have to have a crystal ball and be out ahead of it so much.

Managers who are not deep in IC work should worry, because there will not be much middle management; managers will build just like ICs.
I fear for like the managers who are not deep in IC work or like capable of good IC work because I think that there's not going to be a lot of middle management. I think it's going to be managers who build just like IC's

95 percent of the software made in an age of abundance will be shitty, and shitty software is easy to deal with because it goes away.
95% of it is going to be shitty, right? So and shitty software is easy to deal with. It just goes away because it's bad.

AI is a much different shape of design tool from those before it, but it is still a design tool.
This tool is just accelerating much faster and it's just a a much different shape than the design tools cuz the design tools have all kind of been same but different. This is a much different design tool but to me it's still a design tool.

Good teams keep asking what could make something better and how it could be different, but not just for difference's sake.
it's questioning those things like what could make this better? How could this be different but not just for a different sake? And I think we ask that question all the time.

What is a korrent?
A korrent is a belief a person has stated in their own words: one sentence stating the claim, backed by a quote and a source, kept at korrents.com.
Under a name here, the quoted block is what they actually said. The korrent beneath it is the claim those words support, in korrents' wording — tap it to see the record, its source, and who else holds it.
Nobody here wrote their own korrents. They are compiled from public statements, and a person can change their mind, which is recorded too.
Where they publish
x.com @gt Design and product work, and the small web games and tools he builds on the side.

About the English under a post
Some people here publish in a language other than English. Where they do, this site shows a machine translation beneath the post, in this typeface — the site's own, not theirs.
The post itself is never changed, moved or hidden: what is set in the serif above is exactly what the person published, and it is what to quote them on. A translation can be wrong in ways that matter, especially about tone.
Only the post's own words are translated. A quoted post, a linked article and a belief on korrents.com are left in their original language.
