To do big and important things takes a lot of time and energy sustained over a long period.
It's an unavoidable truth: to do big and important things takes a lot of time and energy sustained over a long period.

Expectations of immediacy will shift again due to new tools that allow for instantaneous generation.
We now have a new paradigm of tools that allow us to generate things instantaneously. Our expectations of immediacy will shift yet again.

AI is a reality that is likely not going away.
With acceptance, with the acknowledgment that AI is here, it's likely not going away, despite my feelings and my grief around it.

Framework-specific implementations of design systems will diminish over time.
Our team thinks framework-specific implementations will diminish over time; most frameworks can consume Web Components as is.

The distinction between 'front-of-the-front-end' and 'back-of-the-front-end' provides a necessary distinction between types of web development.
these labels provide a much-needed distinction between the types of web development that need to occur in order to build successful web things.

The expansion of JavaScript has blurred the lines between different types of web developers.
But now that "JavaScript dun got big" , much of that code that would have historically been written in another language is now written in JavaScript, blurring lines between both front-of-the-front-end and back-of-the-front-end developers but also back-of-the-front-end and traditional back-end developers.

Aspects of design like color, typography, and grids are and will always be subjective.
This type of thinking is certainly important, but I'm slightly less interested in these aspects of design because ultimately they are and will always be subjective.

Interfaces can be broken down into fundamental building blocks to be worked up from.
Similarly, interfaces are made up of smaller components. This means we can break entire interfaces down into fundamental building blocks and work up from there.

What is a korrent?
A korrent is a belief a person has stated in their own words: one sentence stating the claim, backed by a quote and a source, kept at korrents.com.
Under a name here, the quoted block is what they actually said. The korrent beneath it is the claim those words support, in korrents' wording — tap it to see the record, its source, and who else holds it.
Nobody here wrote their own korrents. They are compiled from public statements, and a person can change their mind, which is recorded too.

About the English under a post
Some people here publish in a language other than English. Where they do, this site shows a machine translation beneath the post, in this typeface — the site's own, not theirs.
The post itself is never changed, moved or hidden: what is set in the serif above is exactly what the person published, and it is what to quote them on. A translation can be wrong in ways that matter, especially about tone.
Only the post's own words are translated. A quoted post, a linked article and a belief on korrents.com are left in their original language.
