Eating less meat is one of the easiest ways to help mitigate the awful damage humans are doing to the Earth. We really could save the world if we just stopped eating the cows.

When the Wind BlowsTheir words
The anti-nuclear message of When the Wind Blows is such an important one that I think Briggs was right not to sugar-coat it.

Real understanding of a scientific idea comes from repeatedly applying it to new situations.Their words
real understanding usually takes repeated engagement with the ideas, and actively trying to apply the explanation to situations or phenomena that are different to the ones originally provided.

There’s a belief that seems to be held by many science communicators and science teachers that if you can simply come up with a clear enough explanation for something in science, then your audience or students will understand it. I don’t think this is always, or perhaps even often, true.

I don’t think I’d get the same sense of satisfaction from tutoring I get from being a classroom teacher and I’d miss being part of a school community.

'Racism' and 'sexism' properly name systematic disadvantage, not merely prejudice against anyone.Their words
Whilst I agree that you might technically be able to apply the words racism or sexism when someone says something mean about a white man, just as scientists get angry when creationists misuse the word theory, I tend to get a little annoyed when these words are used in this context.

What is a korrent?
A korrent is a belief a person has stated in their own words: one sentence stating the claim, backed by a quote and a source, kept at korrents.com.
Under a name here, the quoted block is what they actually said. The korrent beneath it is the claim those words support, in korrents' wording — tap it to see the record, its source, and who else holds it.
Nobody here wrote their own korrents. They are compiled from public statements, and a person can change their mind, which is recorded too.
About the English under a post
Some people here publish in a language other than English. Where they do, this site shows a machine translation beneath the post, in this typeface — the site's own, not theirs.
The post itself is never changed, moved or hidden: what is set in the serif above is exactly what the person published, and it is what to quote them on. A translation can be wrong in ways that matter, especially about tone.
Only the post's own words are translated. A quoted post, a linked article and a belief on korrents.com are left in their original language.
